Chapter 1
As I pulled into the church parking-lot in my new Ford Fusion, rocks crackled beneath my tires. I placed my transmission into park, grabbed my scriptures, and hurried into the brown, beautifully built, new church.
While I was walking through the church, I heard someone call my name. It was a male voice, deep, and sounded early twenties.
I turned to see who had called my name, only to find a group of six-year-olds hurrying to their class. That’s odd, I thought to myself as I hurried to go to sacrament meeting.
During the passing of the sacrament, I prayed to Heavenly Father. I had a newly-grown feeling that I was being watched. I turned to see what was bothering me, only to find an elderly couple smiling at me.
I smiled back, embarrassed. Why was I being so unreasonable? This is church, what happened two years ago won’t happen again, I assured myself. I still felt a little edgy.
When sacrament meeting was over, I hurried to get to my Young Women’s class; it was my turn to teach. I didn’t get why I was feeling so helpless. Church wouldn’t bring terrible misfortune, only good feelings of peace… I wasn’t convincing myself.
“Hey Bree! How are you doing? I haven’t seen you in forever!” A female voice interrupted my thoughts.
I knew that voice the moment she spoke; it was my best friend, Shari.

I have more, but I'm just too lazy to write it right now... So I'll give you more every once in awhile.
